Project Por Amor Medical Supply Drive
Want to lend a hand to the people of Cuba?
Join Project Por Amor in supporting the people of Cuba by delivering essential medical supplies to clinics and providing menstruation kits to teenage girls in need.
We proudly partner with the international humanitarian organization Days for Girls, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to advancing health, education, and dignity for women and girls worldwide. Volunteers from the Los Angeles chapter create and assemble washable menstrual pad kits, which are distributed in Cuba alongside health education workshops.
These kits help reduce the stigma surrounding menstruation and empower women and girls to lead healthier lives, pursue education, and achieve greater economic independence. Additionally, Days for Girls donates vital medical supplies to Cuban clinics, further supporting community health and well-being.
Note: Airline baggage fees are not included.
HOW TO HELP
1. Volunteer to carry a package on the airplane
The Days for Girls L.A. Chapter has collected much-needed medical supplies and menstruation kits to donate to Cuba. All you need to do is respond to this email saying you're willing to carry a package down to Cuba as part of our Support for the Cuban People tour. Note: this is only for people in L.A. country.
2. Choose Your Package Size
Simply let us know if you prefer to carry a small (15 lb.), medium (30 lb.), or large (45 lb.) package of medical supplies and/or menstruation kits to Cuba. We'll drop it off at your house a week before your departure for you to take on the trip. Note: airline baggage fees are not included.
3. Make a Difference
When you arrive at the airport in Cuba we'll take it from there and deliver it to Cubans most in need. Your effort to carry these essential supplies will fulfill your Support for the Cuban People travel license and make a meaningful impact.
WHAT DO I BRING?
The Days for Girls Kit is a thoughtfully crafted solution designed to provide sustainable menstrual care for up to three years. Each kit includes patented, washable DfG Pads, consisting of a waterproof shield and absorbent liners for reliable protection. A care and use guide with visual instructions helps users maintain the products and track their menstrual cycles. The kit also includes a water-resistant carry pouch for discreet storage of used liners, underwear for those with limited access, and soap and washcloths for personal hygiene and product care. Everything comes in a beautiful drawstring bag made from locally sourced fabrics, doubling as a practical tote for everyday essentials.
Ready to get started?
Sign up today to volunteer by emailing us at sage@projectporamor.com and letting us know that you'd like to take these supplies to Cuba and that you'd have room for a small, medium, or large.
Note: this is only available for people in Los Angeles County. Airline baggage fees are not included.
No pressure and not required.
Don't worry, it is not expected or necessary for you to volunteer to carry this to Cuba. Your trip will still qualify for the Support for the Cuban People guidelines if you don't take anything to donate. You can also bring other supplies of your own (see our recommendations in the Zoom Orientation). Any help or donation is greatly appreciated by the Cuban people. Whatever works best for you!
