New Orleans Holiday Heritage Tour

December 9-14, 2026

The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans and Project Por Amor have partnered to create a six-day insider's immersion into the Crescent City during its most enchanting season — one that few visitors ever witness. We'll join the city's cherished Réveillon tradition with a multi-course holiday feast in Antoine's legendary private Rex Room, venture out to the Mississippi levees for the spectacular Festival of the Bonfires, where Cajun families have lit towering flames for centuries, and wander 800-year-old live oaks transformed into a cathedral of light. The crown jewel of the week is the PRC's beloved Holiday Home Tour — exclusive access to grand Garden District mansions draped in magnolia garlands, heirloom ornaments, and seasonal splendor. Woven throughout are the things we love most about New Orleans: live music in intimate spaces and profound conversations with civil rights pioneers who are actively shaping the city's future. This is the holiday season the way New Orleans has always celebrated it — generous, communal, and steeped in a living culture unlike anywhere else in America. We hope you will join us.

  • "The trip to New Orleans couldn't have been better! What a pleasure to experience a somewhat familiar city in a totally new way! Sage and the Preservation Resource Center put together a group of out-of-ordinary experiences--a history of jazz piano in the pianist's house, an incredible lecture by the city's foremost urban geographer, great meals, historic tours and almost daily concerts."

    Linda Mack, Archictural Critic, Minneapolis

  • "Though I had lived in New Orleans for 10 years, the Project Por Amour opened my eyes to places I had never known. It was a perfect trip in every sense. Can’t say enough good things about it. "

JoAnn Busattil, Art Collector, Santa Monica

  • "For anyone with limited experience with New Orleans and its culture, this tour is an amazing introduction. It will expose you to the rich culture and deep 400+ year history of New Orleans. You'll learn why this city of 400 thousand attracts up to 18 million tourists a year."

    Tad McKee, Texas

  • "No detail was too small. Truly a side of NOLA that few see. I loved every minute. Music, food, culture and such an interesting group. I would absolutely do it again!"

    Wendy Knight, Texas
