The Architecture and Culture of New Orleans

March 3-9, 2026

The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans and Project Por Amor have partnered to create a one-of-a-kind, seven-day insider’s exploration of the Crescent City. This extraordinary collaboration brings together our collective expertise in transformative cultural travel with five decades of preservation advocacy and deep community connections across New Orleans’ 26 local and national historic districts. Our journey combines architectural heritage, intimate concerts, renowned chefs, and stories of urban renewal - offering access to spaces, sounds, flavors, and perspectives rarely available to typical visitors. Highlights include dinner with acclaimed food critic Ian McNulty, discussions with Tulane urban geographer Richard Campanella, and intimate conversations with neighborhood advocates who have shaped the city’s evolution. Guests will also enjoy behind-the-scenes access to legendary institutions like M.S. Rau Antiques and the Napoleon House, private living-room jazz performances, and a Vietnamese-Creole dining experience on the West Bank. More than sightseeing, this is an immersive educational journey into the heart of America’s most culturally rich city. New Orleans is the backbone of our shared culture – come experience it through the eyes of those who know it best, understand its struggles, and are actively shaping its future.
