Sicily: A Cultural Odyssey with The Florida Trust For Historic Preservation
September 17 - 26, 2027
Dear Friends of the Florida Trust,
Florida's love affair with the Mediterranean runs deep—from the Spanish Colonial walls of St. Augustine to the Mediterranean Revival villas of Coral Gables and Palm Beach. Now we invite you to travel to the source.
Join us September 17–26, 2027, for a ten-day Cultural Odyssey through Sicily—an island where Greek temples, Norman cathedrals, and Baroque palaces share the same skyline. Sicily is a living archive of preservation, adaptation, and cultural endurance, and there's no better classroom for the work we do back home in Florida.
Twelve local experts will guide us. Archaeologists lead us through 2,500-year-old Greek temples and Roman mosaics, You'll wander the historic core of Palermo, ride 4x4s up the slopes of Mount Etna with a volcanologist, sit through a private Baroque concert inside a 17th-century palazzo, attend a performance at a traditional Sicilian puppet maker's atelier, and learn to fold maccheroni alongside the grandmothers of Motta Camastra. Expect long lunches on family farms, hilltop vineyards, and seaside trattorias—and the kind of friendships that only form on a journey like this.
Your participation also fuels the Florida Trust's mission to protect the historic places, landscapes, and cultural heritage that make our state extraordinary.
Spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. We hope you'll join us.
Buon viaggio!

This trip by far exceeded my expectations. We were able to experience farm life at its most pure’s form. The people were just beautiful, caring and so inspiring. The cheese farm was amazing. Everything in the trip was different and just wonderful. From farms, wineries, culture, mountains, shopping, history it had it all.

Project Por Amor is a company that cares about people, bridging connections, and ethical exploration of exotic locations. We met the most amazing artists, restaurant owners, and heritage specialists, each full of gratitude that we had come to bridge community. Our guides were met with hugs and love as we traveled around. We will definitely travel with Project Por Amor again!

"The Sicily trip was the most extraordinary experience that I have ever had. The itinerary and knowledgeable and engaging guides made the experience a trip of a lifetime. This is the second trip that I have taken with Project Por Amor, and amazingly it was even more memorable than the Cuba trip (very difficult to accomplish). I highly recommend this company for wonderful experiences.".
